Cecilia J Hillard is a Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology and Founding Director of the Neuroscience Research Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  In addition, Cecilia serves as Associate Dean for Research at the Medical College.  Cecilia has served as the Executive Director of the International Cannabinoid Research Society.

Cecilia has an undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree and PhD in Pharmacology from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Cecilia is internationally recognized for her studies of the pharmacology and biochemistry of the endocannabinoid signaling system in the brain.  She has contributed significantly to our understanding of the role of the endocannabinoid system in responses to stress and trauma.

Cecilia has won teaching and mentorship awards, is the 2017 Alumna of the Year from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at MCW, and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement award by the International Cannabinoid Research Society.
