Katelyn Heyrman is a third-year doctoral student in the counseling psychology program at UWM. Generally, she is interested in PTSD, moral injury, emotion dysregulation, and the physiological effects of trauma. Currently, she is a recruiter on a NIH-RO1 study identifying the potential early risk factors to PTSD. In addition, she is an interventionist on a study evaluating the effectiveness of brief prolonged exposure therapy in the critical care unit. Finally, she is on a study assessing the potential barriers to veterans transitioning to higher education.
