Kate is a research technician for the Division of Trauma and Critical Care at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Affective Neuroscience Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her main focus is on the Imaging Study of Trauma and Resilience - a longitudinal study that investigates what factors help or hinder how individuals function cognitively and emotionally after a traumatic incident. She assists with many aspects of the study including data collection, conducting structured clinical interviews, participant recruitment and communications, and the training and management of study staff. Kate also works on MTOP in-patient studies with trauma and emergency general surgery patients. She oversees the recruitment team, screens for potential subject eligibility, and assists in biospeciman collection and processing, among other administrative tasks. Kate hopes to pursue a career in health care, either as a Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
